Understanding Oncology with Oncotarget

For the past few years, Oncotarget has covered topics related to oncology. The bio-medical journal is usually published twice weekly. Initially, the journal was published once per week, but due to public demand, the editors of the journal authorized the journal to be published on Tuesday and Friday. The success of the journal is attributed to the leadership of Andrei V. Gudkov and Mikhail Blagosklonny. These two are the editors-in-chief and are also involved with the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The journal was first published seven years ago. Impact Journals is still the publishing company for the journal. However, this has not prevented the journal from being indexed and abstracted in other places such as Scopus, Science Citation Index Expanded and Index Medicus. The journal is also abstracted by the BIOSIS Previews. Follow Oncotarget on Twitter.

Oncotarget also specializes in other topics beyond oncology. These topics include autophagy, chromosomes, and pathology. The journal also touches on microbiology, immunology, and aging. The journal has managed to publish seven volumes up to date. This translates to 326 issues and the eighth volume is currently being published. The journal has maintained an open access. This means that you can access the journal without paying. Visit Oncotarget’s profile page at facebook.com

In the microbiology and immunology sections of the journal, authors concentrate on clinical research and particularly cancer research. This has touched on immunotherapy, mucosal immunology, gene regulation and immune cell development. The section also covers autoimmunity, adaptive immunity, hypersensitiveness, and cytokines. Oncotarget managed to establish the pathology section through the help of Michael Lisanti.
