Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund Helps The World

There are currently over 200 organizations within the United States Human Rights Network. These groups are dedicated to human, civil, and migrant rights. These rights are being violated at an alarming right every day and it gets very little media attention. These groups are trying to change that and bring relief to the people who have been treated unfairly and subjected to these crimes.

Border Angels is on of these groups. They are located in San Diego and have been helping people since 1986 when the organization was created by Enrique Morones. It specifically focuses on the prevention of immigrant deaths, immigration reform, and migrant rights.

They work hard to improve the surrounding community’s education on this subject and they also host awareness programs. Some of the awareness programs include guided tours through the desert where they will leave water behind along the United States and Mexican border. They do this in order to help people learn about the border history and to experience it first hand, since there is so little information about it available to the public.

They have an immigrant outreach program in which they provide emotional support to families. Through this program, they seek to connect families and give them the chance to grieve over lost family members. They have Day Laborer outreach and also provide free legal service on select days of the week. Read more: Michael Larcey | Crunchbase

They also focus on pushing out the truth and expelling the lies and rumors that are often circulated about immigration. They were very helpful during 2014 when the American immigration crisis was in full effect. They collected toys, books, food, and clothing and delivered them among migrant children.

They also provided relief and served as a counterpoint to the protestors along the border. These protestor tried to prevent migrant families from arriving and made the situation chaotic and dangerous. The Border Angels have been working since the 80s and thanks to the support they received from the Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund, they will continue to do so for many years to come.

Journalists Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are the co-founders of Village Voice Media and Phoenix New Times. In 2007, they were unfairly arrested by Joe Arpaio, the Maricopa County Sheriff. The two men were arrested in the middl of the night after they released the knowledge that the Sheriff was covering up something from grand jury proceedings.

Lacey and Larkin, longtime defenders of the first amendment, sued the county and won a settlement of of over $3 million. They vowed to use this money to help other people.

This led to the creation of the Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund. They created this organization in order to support other groups that work towards the advocation of migrant, human, and civil rights. They specifically focus on the issues going on along the United States and Mexican border. They are based in Phoenix, Arizona.

Thanks to this organization, groups all over Arizona and the United States are receiving financial and community support to continue their fights for equal treatment.
